Experienced mechanical engineer in precision mechanics and optomechanics

Description

We are looking for an experienced and driven mechanical engineer who wants to work with the development and design of small, technically advanced and precision-demanding components. The position is a temporary recruitment, which means that you will initially be employed as a consultant at Sigma Industry, with the ambition to then transition to an employment with the customer.

About the role

In the role, you will mainly work with CAD design of very small components with high demands on precision, quality and function. Experience in optomechanics is a strong merit.

All development and manufacturing takes place in-house, which means that you get to follow the products throughout the process – from idea and design to assembly, testing and finished solution. The role is therefore suitable for those who want to combine technical design work with a practical and business-oriented way of working.

The duties include:

• CAD design of small and precision-demanding mechanical components
• Development and further development of technical solutions
• Assembly, customization, troubleshooting, and verification
• Practical work such as welding, soldering and precision mechanical assembly
• Close collaboration with colleagues in development and manufacturing
• Follow-up of the product from design to finished solution

Basic qualifications

We are looking for you who have

• Engineering education in mechanical engineering, mechanics or equivalent
• Several years of relevant experience in mechanical design and product development
• Good experience in CAD design
• A practical touch and interest in hands-on work
• Experience in assembly and preferably also welding or soldering
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English

Meritorious skills, characteristics and experience

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in optomechanics, precision mechanics or precision mechanics
• Experience from the automotive industry
• Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces, the defence industry or other security-critical activities
• Worked in an organization where development and manufacturing takes place in-house

Your personal qualities are very important to us. We are looking for someone who is social, driven and committed and who likes to take the initiative and move the work forward. You are communicative, unpretentious and enjoy working closely with both engineers and employees in production.

At the same time, you are thorough, solution-oriented and comfortable rolling up your sleeves yourself when needed. You are motivated by seeing concrete results and would like to follow a product all the way from the first idea to a working and finished solution.
